If everything works ok then you should see a nice image of one of my pussy cats as part of this blog entry.

The image is stored on my Flickr account and I used Flickr to create this entry automatically using the BloggerAPI that is built into the BlogSphere template.

BlogSphere Updates

Just in case you haven’t noticed a new release of BlogSphere was recently made over on the OpenNTF website. This new release incorporates a number of fixes and some new features. Over on the BlogSphere site you can also read about a fantastic new feature coming in the next release called HotText that can automatically turn words or phrases in your blog entries into hyperlinks to the relevent places.

While Christian Brandlehner is working on fixing all the bugs that have been reported up on OpenNTF I’m working on extending the web interface for the blog owner. One great new feature that will be in the next release is the ability to edit blog entries from the web. if you have any other suggestions for new features for BlogSphere then make sure you let us know.

A9 Search

I had my first search referal from A9 today and to tell the truth this was the first time I had heard of this search engine. It has been created by Amazon and uses Google as it’s backend with extra data supplied by Alexia and a few other providers.

As A9 is fully owned by Amazon when I visited the site for the first time it recognised my Amazon cookie and logged me in to the search site automatically. You can log out if you don’t like this but when your logged in the system can keep track of your recent searches and loads of other very nifty features. One feature I really like is the side tabs that allow you to turn on and off different search types. A9 also have their own toolbar that you can download and install on your browser.

I’m still not sure about the tracking part of the A9 site but it could grow on me.

More GMail Invites

It looks like Google are just throwing
away the invites for GMail, they should just open up registration to everybody
and when they fill there quota close it back down again until they are
ready for the next batch.  That would be so much easier then this
invite lark.

Anyway,. I have another 6 invites available
so leave a comment with your name and email address ( not displayed on
the site ) below and I’ll send them out to the first 6 as soon as I can.
