What I’d like to see in the vein of the aclhelp project:
1. A tool to create/delete ft indexes – and set the various options when creating, of course (updall only refreshes or rebuilds, doesn’t it? Annoying, that – especially when you have a whole set of Dbs in a project to go live. Doing them one by one is so annoying.)
2. A tool to toggle various database settings, like the ability to run agents in a database. (My standard way of dealing with “excessive” agents from users is to disable their whole DB until they sort it out. Draconian, but it works.)
3. A way to add/remove users to and from groups at the console. Because I’m lazy.
Seriously, though, these days it’s less and less acceptable to have a Domino Administrator Client on the server – third party apps like Blackberry get confused with more than one notes.ini – and non-Win32 platforms don’t even have the option anyway. So the more tools we get for the server console the more productive we can be in those emergencies when we’re at the server…
The show/set config command is handy but only if you can remember the exact notes.ini parameter that you need to change.
Ok, so you could switch between the notes.ini and the server console but being able to edit it directly is a much better option.
Philip, my draconian method of dealing with agents is to not allow users to run them in the first place. All production databases must be signed by the Notes Developer ID.
Hi Dec,You can actually do this via Webadmin on a Domino 6.5.2 server as well. Like you said, this is a very handy thing to be able to do, when your servers are in remote locations.

Heh. Oliver beat me to it – but show/set config does this anyway.
If IBM provided a few more tools as useful as aclhelp (http://www.openntf.org/projects/pmt.nsf/ProjectHome?ReadForm&Query=ACLHelp), then I’d never have to use any tools beyond the excellent Domino Server Controller/Remote Console combo.
