Lotusphere 2007 : OPENING SESSION FUCK UP

Apparently the event organisers do not
understand the importance of the queue.  After getting to the first
queue to get up to the ballroom area at 7.15 and waiting till about 7.50
we were all eventually allowed upstairs where we went to the first door
just like previous years.  After the crowds had filled up behind up
we were told that the door we were at was for press only and that we would
have to go to the third door down.

EVERYBODY WHO WAS FIRST TO GO IN WAS
SUDDENLY AT THE BACK OF THE QUEUE.  All the blogging community was
in the same group, we are all split up and too far back to get photos etc.

Good job IBM Lotus/Event Organisers
it’s always nice to see how you look after your most enthustastic customers
and community members.

Oh and where the hell is the wireless
network.  Nobody in the section i’m in can get any sort of a signal.

  1. Ditto this… must have been in the same queue! The whole queue groaned when we were bumped from door to door. Gave us all a chance to admire the crashed error on the welcome plasma display – who said Microsoft errors weren’t fun? (Andrew Pollack has copies of the photos I took)

Guys, I’m sorry. I had no idea — most of the door/traffic duty is outsourced this year, so it’s possible nobody told them, as we’ve always reserved those front doors for press/analyst entrance. I’ll make sure the team knows, not sure what else I can offer.
