I’ve been busy this weekend working on the MSN problem and I think I have it finally working. But I’d like to thank whoever it was that did a google search for "BC5946FC3B28". It showed up in my referer logs and doing the same search showed me three sites including my own. One of the other two sites was a modification for PHP-Nuke that basically added the functionality that I was looking for.
So here it is for everybody to see. It’s a nice simple script, it uses JavaScript so should run on most platforms and has a few safety catches so if the user doesn’t have MSN Messenger installed or logged in it won’t do anything or cause javascript errors.

Yeah, but what if they’re using a version of Messenger above 4.7? I’m using 6.1 and when I use this function it wants to install a newer version … but a version lower than 6.1! Anyone find a clsid and numbers for newer versions of MSN?
