Referrers Log

Ok Ok, I know everybody seems to be doing it so I thought to myself why not give it a shot…

I have now implemented a referer log that will show the last 20 click-thrus into my blog.  I’ll just have to sit back and see what happens.

I’ve made the modifications to the FreeDomBlog template in such a way that they are intergrated into the preferences, the log can be turned on and off and can be displayed on the left or right.  This is a great learning experience for me, I haven’t done a lot of browser programming at all so fingers crossed that it doesn’t break down…

Many thanks go to Ben Poole and his tip on how to implement the log.

For my next trick I will be implementing PermaLinks and I’ll also be regigging the notes client interface because I’m good at doing that.

More Help Needed

I noticed up on MY:DOM:BLOG that the author of that blog was trying to get accepted on to the Simple CRM project.

When I went in to look at the opening I found that loads of people are willing to help so I have accepted them all for the project.  Hope this makes everybody happy now.

Personally I don’t get the whole opening bit.  If you have something to contribute to the project then open up a discussion topic on it.  It can be discussed and implemented as a feature request if everybody likes the idea.  By having openings for a project people looking at the site think that they can’t contribute unless they are accepted. Anyway, now that they are all accepted we will just have to see what happens….

Express != Fast

For the past few weeks I’ve been trying to install IBM WebSphere Portal Express.  Trying being the correct work, over 25 times I’ve tried and it still won’t install properly.  Aggggh.
